Cameroon Produces Another Longest Serving President in Africa
Cameroon
president-elect Paul Biya, 85, is planned to take the oath of office on
Tuesday, an official articulation discharged by the National Assembly said on
Monday, 5th Nov 2018.
"The swearing-in
service will start at 11 a.m. neighborhood time at the National Assembly in the
capital Yaounde,'' the program showed.
On Monday, the last leg
of arrangements for the president's introduction was in progress at the
National Assembly.
Secretary-General of
the party, Jean Nkuete, told newsmen that the decision party, Cameroon People's
Democratic Movement, is assembling individuals and sympathizers to respect the
official service in an "uncommon manner."
A local of Cameroon's
south, Biya has been head of state since 1982 when he assumed control following
the abdication of Ahmadou Ahidjo who was in power since freedom in 1960.
He climbed quickly as a
civil servant under President Ahmadou Ahidjo during the 1960s, filling in as
Secretary-General of the Presidency for 8 years and after that as Prime Minister
of Cameroon for another 8 years.
Biya, who has managed

protected term confines in 2008, enabling him to run once more. The move
